Privacy Policy
This policy explains what adventure256.com collects, why, who else handles it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It describes what this site actually does.
The short version
- You can read the whole site without giving us anything.
- We collect what you choose to type into a form, plus standard visit statistics and server logs.
- We do not sell your information or share it for advertising.
- Ask, and we will show you what we hold about you, correct it or delete it.
Who is responsible
Adventure256 is a brand of Life Kitchen Studios, LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company, which is responsible for the information described here. You can reach us at deven@adventure256.com.
What we collect, and when
Reading the site. You do not need to provide anything. Visit statistics are recorded on the homepage (see Analytics and cookies), and the hosting platform keeps ordinary server logs, including the IP address (the numeric internet address of your device or network) each request came from.
The readiness check. Your answers are scored in your own browser, and nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose to save them. If you do, we receive your first name and email address, your last name and company if you add them, your nine answers and your result. We store them in our customer records and email you a copy.
Sending a message. The message form collects your first and last name, email address, an optional phone number, your message, the page you sent it from, and the standard description your browser gives of itself (its type and version, known as the user agent).
The monthly letter. If you tick the box asking for our monthly letter, we record that you agreed, the exact words you agreed to, the page and the time. Every letter has a one-click unsubscribe link.
Booking a call. The booking calendar is provided by Cal.com and loads only when you choose to book. Cal.com collects what its booking form asks for, such as your name, email address and any notes you add, and shares the booking with us so we can hold the meeting. Calls take place on Google Meet.
Links we send personally. When we send someone a link ourselves, it may end with a short tag. If you open a tagged link, the site notes that the tag was opened, the approximate city and country the request came from, and how long the page stayed open. That note is written to the hosting platform’s activity log. Links without a tag record nothing of this kind.
Preventing abuse. To stop automated spam, the forms use your IP address briefly to limit how many submissions can come from one place. When a form is saved, our customer records keep only a scrambled, one-way version of the IP address (a cryptographic hash), never the address itself.
Why we use it
We use it to reply to you; to send what you asked for (your readiness results, the monthly letter, a meeting); to keep track of the people we are in conversation with, so nothing gets lost; to understand which parts of the site people read; and to keep the site working and free of abuse.
Information you give through this site is added to the monthly letter only if you tick the box asking for it.
Who else handles it
We use established providers to run the site. Each one handles information only as needed to provide its service to us, under its own privacy terms:
- Vercel hosts the site and keeps its server and activity logs.
- Our customer records system, which we run ourselves on cloud infrastructure, stores contact details, messages, readiness answers and letter consent.
- Resend delivers our emails, including your readiness results and the monthly letter.
- An email verification service checks that a newly received address can receive mail, so we do not write to addresses that no longer work.
- Cal.com runs the booking calendar.
- Google provides the visit statistics (Google Analytics), our email (Google Workspace) and video calls (Google Meet).
- Adobe Fonts serves the site’s typefaces. Like any web request, this shares your IP address and browser type with Adobe.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising (advertising aimed at you using your activity across other companies’ sites and apps). We run no advertising networks on the site and pass your details to no one for their own marketing. If that ever changes, this policy will change first.
How long we keep it
Contact details, messages and readiness answers stay in our customer records while we are in touch and until you ask us to delete them. If you unsubscribe from the letter, we keep a note that you did, so the unsubscribe stays in effect. Visit statistics expire on Google’s retention schedule. Server and activity logs expire on the hosting platform’s schedule, though we may save a copy of tagged-link records to see whether a message we sent was read.
Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and leave the monthly letter at any time. Residents of the European Union, the United Kingdom and several US states, including California, have these rights by law, and we apply the same handling to everyone. Email deven@adventure256.com and tell us what you would like done. We may need to confirm it is you before acting, and asking will never count against you.
Children
The site is written for business leaders and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Where it is processed
We and the providers above operate mainly in the United States. If you visit from elsewhere, your information is processed in the United States.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect what we hold: encrypted connections, access limited to the people who need it, and credentials kept in managed secret stores instead of in code. No system is perfectly secure. If a problem affects your information, we will tell you.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. If a change affects how we use information we already hold, we will say so clearly on this page.
